DON'T HESITATE!
Hesitation is a silent thief. It doesn’t come loudly, with obvious resistance. Instead, it creeps in quietly, whispering questions and doubts until the inspiration you once felt begins to fade. One day you are excited about a new idea, full of energy to pursue it. The next day, after too much thinking and second-guessing, the fire cools and the dream feels distant.
That’s the danger of hesitation. It creates the perfect breeding ground for fear. Fear is persuasive. It doesn’t barge in; it negotiates. It tells you to wait until you’re ready, until the timing is better, until you have more money, more clarity, more confidence. And in waiting, many never take the step they were meant to take.
Now, this doesn’t mean you should charge into situations without wisdom. Thoughtfulness has its place. But wisdom is not the same as fear disguised as caution. Wisdom moves you forward; fear paralyses you.
Think of your journey like a long road, bordered with tools you will need along the way. These tools come in different forms: people who encourage you, experiences that strengthen you, lessons that shape you, and opportunities that stretch you. You won’t be handed everything at the start. You are meant to pick them up as you walk.
But if you never take the first step, you’ll never be in position to find the tools. The path only reveals itself as you walk it.
Martin Luther King Jr. said it perfectly: “You don’t have to see the whole staircase, you only have to take the first step.” It’s in taking the step that the next one becomes visible. And with every step, you grow stronger, wiser, and more prepared for the journey ahead.
So, what step are you holding back from because of hesitation? What dream have you placed on pause because fear has been negotiating with your mind?
It doesn’t have to be a giant leap. It may be a simple phone call, sending an email, or putting your idea on paper. Small steps are powerful because they set things in motion. The path unfolds one action at a time.
Don’t wait until everything looks perfect, because perfection never comes. Don’t let hesitation rob you of the future you were created for. Instead, take the step before you, no matter how small, and trust that the tools, the people, and the opportunities you need will meet you on the way.
